Welcome Parents:
My name is Gigi Colon and I am your PA President .
My team and I are working hard to keep you abreast of what is taken place at your child's school.
Our Goal: is to share as much information with you the parent, about the ongoing activities that we hope to bring to your children on a monthly basis.
Please work closely with our Parent Association by attending as many PA meetings, as well as volunteering to assist in the numerous school functions and events that take place on a annual basis.
Events like our Book Fair, Family Bowling, , Picture Day, Kindergarten Celebration, - and Assembly Programs.
All these programs and more require additional parent/adult volunteers in order to have these events run efficiently and safely.
The Executive Board at PS 178 look forward to meeting and sharing ongoing information throughout the year.

THIS BLOG IS VERY INFORMATIVE FOR PARENTS WHO CANT GET TO THE SCHOOL MEETINGS. I BELIEVE THAT THIS WILL HELP PARENT AND THEIR CHILDREN IN EVERY WAY. I BELIEVE THAT THE PA AT 178 IS A GREAT WAY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS IMPORTANT IN YOUR CHILDREN'S SCHOOL. IF THE FACULTY AT PS 178 WAS AS INFORMATIVE AND RECEPTIVE TO THE PARENTS, I BELIEVE THAT MOR PARENTS WOULD BE WILLING TO HELP OUT. THE SCHOOL WOULD RECEIVE MORE A'S FOR THE BEST SCHOOL IN THE COMMUNITY. ELEVEN YEARS AGO A CHILD ATTENDED THE SCHOOL AND IT RECEIVED GREAT RATINGS.. SOMETHING HAS CHANGED AND I BELIEVE THAT THEIR IS NO CARING FOR THE CHILDREN LIKE BEFORE. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE CHILDREN IN K-2ND GRADE HAVE NO RECESS BECAUSE THEY AREN'T QUIET ENOUGH IN THE MORNING...........GIVE ME A BREAK K........THE LITTLE ONES ARE JUST LEARNING AND STILL VERY SCARED WHAT ON EARTH ARE THEY TO DO BE STATUES.... ITS BAD ENOUGH THE CHILREN ARE INSIDE ALL DAY AND THE LITTLE TIME FOR RECESS IS TAKEN AWAY. THE CHILDREN NEED FRESH AIR. THE PRINCIPAL NEEDS TO TAKE THAT INTO CONSIDERATION. LEARN HOW TO TALK TO THE CHILDREN, NOT TREAT THEM LIKE DOGS. WE ALL ARE HUMAN
I celebrate the work that the parent association is doing at PS178. I am proud to see the changes that have taken place since this new board.
Please keep up the good work and never stop believing in our children. They are our future and they need your teams strong leadership.

Preside OBAMA's Message was a powerful one and every child and Teacher should strive to do their very best. Who knows? One of our students might just become the next President as well.
